Easter: The Festival Of The Resurrection

Holy Week provides the opportunity for us as God’s people to journey with Jesus through the events of the Passion. On Maundy Thursday we will celebrate Holy Communion as we remember Jesus instituting this means of Grace. It was also at the celebration of The Passover Meal that Jesus washed his disciples’ feet and showed them the role of the servant as the model for disciples. We will gather at 6:30 PM on Maundy Thursday, April 1st for worship. Our Lord invites your presence.

We will offer two services of worship on Good Friday, April 2nd, at 10 AM in the Historic Chapel and at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary. The morning worship will provide a traditional Good Friday worship with the reading of the passion gospel, sermon, and Holy Communion. The evening Good Friday worship will be led by our High School youth. You are invited to worship at both.

On Saturday the traditional Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 2, 11:00 AM, gather in Luther Hall.

A special Easter Movie will be shown in the Galaxy Theater, at 9:15 am.

On Easter morning, the Lutheran Men in Mission will provide the Easter Breakfast of Pancakes, sausage and all the trimmings, with serving from 7 AM until 10 AM. A free will offering will be received. Gifts above cost of the meal will go to Lutheran Men in Mission to provide support for that ministry.

Easter morning worship services will be held at the usual 8 AM and 10:30 AM worship times. The festive notes of music and the joyful refrains of “Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed” will fill the air. This is a special time when all Christians want to worship. Plan to worship and invite a friend or neighbor to come to worship with you.
