Easter: The Festival Of The ResurrectionHoly Week provides the opportunity for us as God’s people to journey with Jesus through the events of the Passion. On Maundy Thursday we will celebrate Holy Communion as we remember Jesus instituting this means of Grace. It was also at the celebration of The Passover Meal that Jesus washed his disciples’ feet and showed them the role of the servant as the model for disciples. We will gather at 6:30 PM on Maundy Thursday, April 1st for worship. Our Lord invites your presence.

------------------------------------From Pastor Schulte's Pen February 2010Ash Wednesday – February 17thWith Easter Day coming quite early this year, on April 4, 2010, we find ourselves observing Ash Wednesday on February 17th. St. John utheran of Boerne will continue our Lenten tradition with Ash Wednesday Worship Opportunities at 10 A.M. worship in the Historic Chapel and 6:30 P.M. worship in the Sanctuary. The Imposition of Ashes will be offered to all worshippers and provides a way for all to begin the season of Lent hearing the call to repentance and to hear the words of our mortality, words of our finite nature, Remember, you are dust and to dust you shall return” as the cross mark is made on our forehead. |

Happy New Year! A Blessed New Year to each of you! We begin the New Year with much thanksgiving for all the blessings of the past and with great anticipation and thanksgiving for the hope and expectations of this New Year. But calendars are rather superficial for they do not really tell the whole story. Life is a gift of God. We receive it anew each day, give thanks for it, unwrap it and then spend and invest it in ways that are pleasing to God, bring benefit to those around us and bring glory to God. Whether the month or the year changes, life does not! We simply seek to live faithfully in the relationship that God established with us in our baptism, living out of that tub full of grace in which we stand. |

The Advent of our King!As we recover from the extremes of turkey and football, we quickly move into the celebration of The Season of Advent. Some of you come from congregations that offered special Mid-week Advent worship opportunities, similar to our Mid-week Lenten services and have asked that we consider doing these. |
